Island Lines, original acrylic painting on canvas by Sean Coleman

Island Lines 24x36

There’s a certain feeling in Hawaii when the land opens up in front of you and the ocean seems to go on forever. The road winds ahead, the afternoon sun stretches the trees across the ground, and for a moment, there’s nowhere else you need to be.

Island Lines is about that feeling.

Bold fields of color turn the landscape into memory rather than geography. Greens, oranges and pinks collide with the blues of the Pacific, while long shadows and red lines move through the painting like traces of where you’ve been. The road draws you forward, toward the water and whatever might be around the next bend.

It’s the Hawaii I love most. Not a destination, but that quiet feeling of being completely present in a place you never really want to leave.
