Some people find the ocean later in life. I grew up inside it.
Raised in California on skateboards, surfboards, saltwater mornings, and endless summers, I learned early that the ocean wasn’t just a place, it was a feeling. Freedom. Movement. Perspective. It shaped the way I saw the world long before I ever picked up a camera or paintbrush.
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the last 40 years, that instinct has carried through painting, photography, film, design, sculpture, and nearly every form of creativity I could get my hands on. Different mediums. Same pursuit: trying to hold onto moments that disappear too fast.
Today, my work is rooted between the West Coast and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, where my studio is surrounded by surfboards, salt air, shifting light, and the rhythm of the Pacific. My wife Tracy and our daughters, Siena and Serafina, share that love for the ocean with me, and that connection lives inside every piece I create.
The calm. The energy. The nostalgia. The reminder that happiness comes in waves.

I’ve always been drawn to work that feels alive. In my paintings, that means thick texture, visible movement, bold color, and brushstrokes that aren’t overly controlled. I want the paint to feel physical, almost like the ocean itself, layered, imperfect, shifting with light and energy. My photography follows that same instinct. Less about documenting a moment and more about transforming it into something emotional and atmospheric. Motion over perfection. Feeling over realism. Whether through paint or photography, my work is meant to pull you in the same way the ocean does—not just to show you something beautiful, but to make you feel something real.
