Island Current, original acrylic painting on canvas by Sean Coleman, turquoise water sweeping along the coastline with fields of orange, green, violet and gold stretching to the horizon

Island Current 24x36

There’s a rhythm to Hawaii that you feel before you can explain it. The pull of the ocean, the warmth of the land, the trade winds moving through the trees. Everything seems to be in motion.

Island Current captures that feeling in color. Turquoise water sweeps along the coastline while fields of orange, green, violet and gold stretch toward the horizon. Long brushstrokes follow the contours of the island, with flashes of red underneath giving the landscape its pulse.

For me, this painting is less about a particular place and more about the feeling of being there. The way Hawaii slows you down while somehow making everything around you feel alive.

The land has its own rhythm. The ocean has its own current. And somewhere in Hawaii, the two become one.
