Coastline in Color 24x48

There are stretches of the Pacific Coast Highway where the landscape seems almost too composed to be real. The road bends with the shoreline, fields stack against the hills, and the Pacific stretches out in bands of blue.

Coastline in Color captures that rhythm through long, confident strokes and unexpected blocks of color. Roads, fields, trees, rooftops and water are simplified into shapes, separated by flashes of red that give the landscape an almost drawn quality beneath the paint.

Rather than recreating the California coast exactly as it appears, the painting holds onto the feeling of driving the PCH, watching the scenery unfold around every curve.
